I originally wrote this song during the first Gulf War. Imagine my shock when the song suddenly and tragically became relevant again. I re-recorded it but my wife would not let me release the song as a free download back in 2003 due to the political climate in the country. It was a sad but true commentary that George Bush had made freedom of speech such a dangerous proposition that it made my wife afraid. Finally last year when the climate had started to change a bit I put it on my site as a free download. It has had numerous downloads and I hope has helped to galvanize opposition to the war and to George Bush."

Game Over
(4.2 MB, running time: 4:24)

Game Over is another musical creation by SoulPrawn that combines Bush's voice with hip electronic music set to a great beat to make an anti-Bush statement. If you like Game Over, you will also like Terror that can be found on this list.

More on SoulPrawn: Raised in France by British parents, SoulPrawn's extensive travels throughout the planet and the fact that he spent the past 15 years in Africa and the Middle-East with regular visits to the United States, gave him the ability to observe political developments in different parts of the world from a priviliged local perspective. SoulPrawn, an amateur musician, has only very recently started working on composing songs, animated by a keen interest in music (rock, trip-hop, electronica) and the political conscience which his observations generated. His very first compositions are a series of criticisms of Bush's corrupt regime and it's impact on America and the world, in which Bush's voice is used to sing anti-Bush messages. Please visit his new website for more information and to hear more of his music.

Georgie Boy
(2.2 MB, running time: 2:27)

This is a well-crafted rock song that ridicules Bush by the garageband, Dunderhead.

More on Dunderhead: Dunderhead released Songs of Dunder in 1995, which got some good reviews and made it onto WPKN's Radio Nothing's playlists #932 and #936. Radio Nothing is as cool as it gets. Dunderhead's music gets stuck in your head and makes you think, which is not for everyone. It's a thinking man's anti-pop which is completely safe for kids. Very few people have noticed that Songs of Dunder begins and ends in the key of 'D', just like the name "Dunderhead". As far as we are aware, this is the first time this has ever been done. Not even Rolling Stone magazine picked up on it. For more information you can visit their web page on Garageband.com.

George of the City
(3.7 MB, running time: 3:52 min.)

This very good rock/pop/electronic song is by a French band called: "Square Syndrome." This song is loosely based around the popular cartoon song "George of the Jungle" and ridicules Bush as someone that "crashes into a tree" and "someone so stupid he doesn't realize he is so stupid that he sends young people to war." So the "discourse" used in the song is deliberately full of violent war-like bravado in the same pretentious and immature way this band and our site views Bush and his actions in Iraq. The song was recorded shortly after the attacks on 9/11.

More information on Square Syndrome: This band consists of five members who have been together since 1997. They've made about 50 songs and have played 100 concerts. The band consistes of a drummer, a guitarist/singer, a bass-player, a second guitarist, and a keyboard-computer player. They play a lot of music styles: pop, rock, jazz, metal, reggae, techno, and punk. You can find more information about Square Syndrome and their music on their web site in French. You can also hear four more of their songs online. You can contact: golgoth1000 [at] yahoo.fr to purchase their CDs.

More on "George of the Jungle" from the band: "It's true that this song could be seen as a pro-Bush song but these people would have to be real imbeciles. Between two sensible ears, it detracts even more from Bush's credibility in that when an attack [9/11] of this breadth happens, where one treats people the way a child treats an anthill, the representative of the victims (Bush) can't find anything else to say but 'are you fucking kidding me?' or 'this is America, we kick ass,' which is troubling after such an act.....George Bush is far from being a Rambo, but rather the equivalent of those immature enlightened found in plenty of fields who unfortunately form part of the sphere of the powerful and influential. One could say they are playing the game "RISK" with the world, without realizing that this has an impact on real human life: you, me. Beyond the desire for a culture shock between us, this is more a vision of our culture over another, which like everyone and everything, needs, at some point or other, an opinion from outside in order to expand one's ideas, and notice things one would never have noticed on one's own. In closing, one has to know that this discussion is practically impossible to find these days. In any case, I don't remember that the French have had any right to this poetic and humanist lecture. Is there some way to communicate to people close to Bush, who will have understood that the Europeans could have been shocked?

Good Ol' Jesus
(4.7 MB, running time: 4.58 min.)

This song is a "Thom Paine/Woody Guthrie" look at the religious right and the current administration by New York City singer/songwriter, Kevin Kane, from his latest CD. It's a song that sums it all up in a hauntingly wistful way, using theological insights, a self-evident reverence for life, and plenty of righteous indignation. What any decent person must feel in the face of the many things being said and done by the right wing, in the name of Good Ol' Jesus. Give this one a listen!

More information on Kevin Kane: Please visit Kevin Kane's web site Kanesongs.com for more information on his music and CDs.

Greasy, Oily Freedom
(4.5 MB, running time 4:52)

This is a blues/rock style protest song written by John McKay and preformed by the John McKay Band

About Greasy, Oily Freedom: I wrote Greasy, Oily Freedom last year when I was entering the poorist time in my life and Bush thought it was a good idea to go across the world and spend billions of dollars killing people so that's where the first line comes from: I sleep on the floor and watch the t.v. war and wonder what it's for - Iraqi freedom?

About the John McKay Band: The John McKay Band is an extremely talented group of musicians playing my songs (which I'd like to think are very good, aware creative tunes) We're opening for Leftover Salmon in a few weeks. Two of the guys have been touring with Dan Bern. The main reason we aren't well know is finances. Most people don't realize that to get a band to the masses you need lots of money. Maybe if I was on George's side and sent him a positive song promoting his side (won't ever happen) than I could get financing through his big fat rich cronies. I'd rather be unknown than look like shit through the eyes of the world. You can purchase a CD of their music by visiting their website.

Great Big Lies
(3.8 MB, running time: 4.11 min.)

This is a really terrific anti-war, anti-Bush rock anthem by the Long Beach, CA group, Dumb Presidents. We loved it and think you will too!

More on Dumb Presidents: The band is located in Long Beach, CA and features members: Ian Kognito & Hunter Cover. You can find more information on this band by visiting the garageband website.

Hey, Rich King Midas
(8.5 MB, running time: 3:43)

This is a rocking punk/folk banjo song which poetically adapts the legend of King Midas to modern corporate greed by singer/songwriter Jack Chernos & the Real Department of Justice.

More on Jack Chernos: Chernos has written a number of songs of historical significance, including: The Union Grand, theme song of the Million Worker March on Washington, DC; The Silence of Good People, which has been performed at the large anti-Iraq-war rallies and was inducted into the National Civil Rights Museum; and Sold Down the River, the anti-WTO song played in continuous-loop from the Steelworkers' billboard truck in Seattle. Please visit Jack Chernos & the Real Department of Justice web site for more information on his music. We have the lyrics to Hey, Rich King Midas posted on our web site.

Hey There America, Where You Goin'?
(3.4 MB, running time: 3:41)

"Hey There America" takes a look the country's current critical situation.
It was written and produced by Pete Travis with help the Second Story Garage Band, a group of elder folks meeting on occasional Tuesdays for the joy of creating homemade music. This is an exceptional and well done ballad we know you will enjoy.

More on Pete Travis: Pete is a retired telecom executive living in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He has been writing music since the late 1950's. Over the years a few of his tunes have been published, but he reports the royalty checks to be more suitable for framing than cashing. A Viet Nam era Navy veteran, Pete has been opposed to the war since before
its beginning. He feels that there is not enough music jarring the apathy
of the American people to the war's terrible realities. Thus he's decided
to give it a go himself.

Holdin' Out
(5.2 MB, running time: 3:50)

Home on the Range
(2.7 MB, running time: 2:54)

Home on the Range is a very funny and clever remake of the original song by a terrific group of musicians from Atlanta, GA called The Freedom Toast. This song is from their new CD called: Sing Along with the Republicans. Don't be misled by the CD title. Their CD ridicules the far right, the GOP, and Bush by remaking popular music in their own clever style and with their own clever lyrics.

More on The Freedom Toast: These talented musicians have a web site where you can find more information about them and their CDs. The other CD is called: Sing Along with the Democrats. You can purchase either CD from their web site and/or listen to sample clips.

An excellent satirical anti-Bush folk song by songwriter Scott Morrison of Scotty and the Skeptics

About Scott Morrison: I've been writing for over 25 years--love ballads, rockers, country twangers, and the satirical and hopefully humorous commentaries that appear at Scotty and the Skeptics site. All the songs on the site are in my satirical/political mode, which seems to be my special niche, and were recorded as song demoes (simple arrangements, a few missed notes) to pitch to artists, producers, labels, etc.

I am the publisher of a line of well-known music education posters that are like roadmaps to harmony for guitar, keyboard, saxophone and other instruments. We produced our first product, The Guitar Poster, in 1980, and it has become a classic. They are available in thousands of musical instrument stores as well as directly from us at the site.
